Jonathon completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto after which, in 1994, he graduated from the University of Western Ontario, Faculty of Law. In 1996, he was called to the Ontario Bar after completing his articles at an insurance litigation firm. Since that time, he has practised in the area of civil and insurance litigation with Malach + Fidler. He is a partner at the firm.
Jonathon's practice is focused primarily on accident benefits defence litigation, tort defence litigation and first party property claims (including fraudulent claims, product liability claims and subrogation claims). He acts on behalf of insurers in loss transfer and priority disputes and has appeared at all levels of the Ontario court system, as well as before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
An Executive Member of the Ontario Bar Association, Insurance Law Section, Jonathon also belongs to Canadian Defence Lawyers, the York Region Law Association and the Defense Research Institute. In addition, he lectures at seminars for various insurers and industry associations.
