Elaine obtained her medical degree in Beijing, China and practised there as a physician for two years before being admitted to Osgoode Hall Law School in 1997. She received her LL.B. degree in 2000 and then completed her articles at a boutique litigation firm in Toronto. Following her call to the Ontario Bar in 2002, Elaine joined Malach + Fidler LLP to practice exclusively in the areas of insurance defence and personal injury litigation on behalf of both plaintiffs and insurers.

Elaine is involved in a wide variety of cases including motor vehicle accident claims, property damage claims, accident benefits claims, occupier's liability claims, medical malpractice claims, and product liability claims. Elaine has appeared before judges and masters of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. As well, she has participated in private mediations, trials and appeal hearings as junior counsel and conducted numerous Small Claims Court trials.

A member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates' Society and the Canadian Defence Lawyers, Elaine attends continuing legal education seminars on a regular basis. She is also actively involved in the Chinese community.
